This recognition is based on RiSK4SEA’s comprehensive analysis of the global PSC ecosystem, including PSC inspections, ships, managers, and inspection outcomes over the past 36 months.
Among 328 ship managers evaluated across 4,895 Port State Control inspections, Chellaram Shipping achieved an outstanding 94% performance score, reflecting the company’s continued commitment to operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and the highest standards of safety and quality management.

Chellship hosted its 2026 Seminar – “The Chellship Way” on 29–30 April 2026 at the Hilton Mumbai International Airport Hotel, bringing together senior officers, management representatives, and industry experts for two days of structured learning, active engagement, and professional development.
The seminar reaffirmed Chellship’s commitment to operational excellence, safety leadership, crew welfare, and continuous improvement. The seminar opened with a video address by Group Chairman Mr Lal Chellaram, setting the tone for discussions on the company’s vision, values, and standards.
The programme covered a wide range of topics, including Port State Control performance, incident prevention, commercial awareness, mental health, human relations, training development, healthy lifestyle practices, energy-efficient technologies, and voyage optimisation. A screening of Chellaram Foundtion’s Co produced Documentary All the World is Green further encouraged reflection on sustainability and well-being.
A key highlight was the Long Service Awards ceremony, recognising officers for their dedication and valuable contributions to the organisation. The seminar also included a morning yoga and wellness session, reinforcing the importance of physical fitness and mental resilience for seafarers.
The screening of the Documentary All the World is Green Co produced by Chellaram Foundation further encouraged reflection on sustainability and wellbeing.
